Diploma in Food Processing Technology

Purpose overview
In Food Processing specialization, trainees are equipped with the knowledge and skills required in the food processing industry. Trainees gain hands-on experience in operating food processing machinery and conducting quality assessments. Moreover, Trainees can perform troubleshooting, adapt to 5s techniques and adhere to strict hygiene protocols.
Apart from this knowledge, trainees will be able to perform regular inspections, installation of electrical components such as domestic, industrial and control wiring with electrical codes and safety regulations.
Intended Learning Outcomes
After the completion of this Qualification the trainees are expected to be able to:
- Understand the concept of Food Hygiene and GMP.
- Understand the food refinery operation and principles.
- Understand the operational principle, construction features, and various boiler types and configurations.
- Understand the operational principles, constructional features, and various pump classifications.
- Perform refined food specification measurements
- Perform food refining techniques
- Apply GMP & HACCP in food operations
- Perform preventive maintenance and condition monitoring of air compressors.
- Perform periodic control valve maintenance and safety.
- Interpret the process flow diagrams.
- Interpret the Piping and instrumentation diagrams(PID).
- Apply pneumatic circuits to set up and operate pneumatic actuators.
- Understand the applications of industrial measuring instrument and devices.
- Use different types of sensors to measure and control the process.
- Interpret SCADA P&ID symbols and use SCADA software to operate and monitor filed devices, alarms and process variables.
- Use process controllers to control the industrial process
Entry Requirement
- Students who are having Secondary School Certificate with minimum 80% marks
- Age 18-22 years
- Pass Admission test and interview
