Diploma in Food Quality Inspection

Purpose overview

This qualification is designed for trainees who wish to be part of the Food Industry as well as food regulatory organizations in the field of Food quality, safety, and inspections. This qualification offers the trainees the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge required to prove competence at work specifically in the areas of Food safety, Quality control, Quality assurance and laboratory operation. This qualification is also focusing on the Saudi Food laws and regulations and their interpretation to the Saudi Food industry context.

Intended Learning Outcomes

After the completion of this Qualification the trainees are expected to be able to:

  • Demonstrate fundamental principles of Food Engineering
  • Demonstrate fundamental principles of Food Microbiology
  • Demonstrate fundamental principles of Food Chemistry
  • Demonstrating analytical techniques in Food
  • Understand basics of Food safety management
  • Understand and demonstrate HACCP in Food Manufacturing
  • Understand and demonstrate food hygiene and sanitation principles
  • Understand and demonstrate Food sampling, & Food Labeling
  • Understand Saudi Food laws and regulations
  • Understand Principles of Quality Assurance in food manufacturing
  • Understand and demonstrate Principles of Food Inspection & inspection Auditing
  • Field Inspections (OJT)
  • Demonstrating Communication and other employability skills

Entry Requirement

  • Pass Admission test and interview
  • Age 18-22 years
  • Students with Secondary School Certificate & minimum 80% marks
